Prayers prompt religious row

Muslims have found yet another reason to complain: "evangelical propaganda" during "Ramadan".

Perhaps they would be happier if Christians prayed, not for the salvation of muslims, but for their

death and destruction, as "Allah", their false god, might have done (Sura 8:12 etc).

A row has broken out after a Christian group organised a day of prayer in Oxford about Muslims

during Ramadan.

The Muslim Education Centre of Oxford (Meco) accused Witney-based Open Doors UK of preaching

"evangelical propaganda", after the Christian group held a Call to Prayer day in Oxford yesterday.

But Open Doors UK, which held the event at St Aldate's Church, insisted it had been taken out of

context, although it "regretted" any offence that had been caused.

A spokesman denied the meeting targeted Muslims, and said its aim was to reduce fear of Islam.

Meco chairman Dr Taj Hargey was invited on BBC Radio Oxford yesterday to talk about the

month of Ramadan, and was followed on to Phil Mercer's show by Brother Andrew from

Open Doors UK.

Dr Hargey said: "It was only then that I learned they were running a day-long Christian initiative

called Call to Prayer.

Muslim nations are seeking legal sanctions against those who "defame" Islam, but Islam is founded

on blasphemy against Jesus Christ, and deliberately and specifically rejects God's free gift of

salvation and eternal life through the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

There may not be legal consequences for such blasphemy, however, there are eternal

consequences. To follow the "Way to Islam" presented on the Al-Sunnah web site is

to blaspheme against Jesus Christ the Son, and God the Father who sent him to save

us from our sins ...

JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BosNewsLife)-- An Indonesian court has sentenced 41 Christian leaders to five years imprisonment on

charges of blasphemy because they openly prayed that Muslims "come to know Christ," local Christians and a well-informed human

rights group told BosNewsLife Thursday, November 1.

Voice Of the Martyrs (VOM) Australia said the Christians, who are linked to the international mission group Campus Crusade for Christ,

participated in a December, 2006, prayer gathering in the Indonesian province of East Java.

"During this time they prayed for their nation asking that all Muslim leaders come to know Christ. Video footage of this prayer meeting

was filmed and was leaked to a Muslim organization," VOM Australia said.

The organization quoted local sources as saying that the 41 believers "have been found guilty of abusing the Koran," seen as a holy

book by Muslims. "The judge sentenced them to five years in prison". Their lawyers are planning to appeal the sentence in

East Java High Court in Surabaya, VOM Australia added.

Russia And Iran Conducting Proxy Wars Against US And Israel

2007-06-07 -- [WDC News Post] -- WASH—Jun 7—DJNS-- Russia and Iran are conducting proxy wars against the United States and Israel by funding, equipping and by providing strategy to terrorists who ultimately fight in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Israel. Russia is complicit in the proxy wars because Iran is by far and away one of the largest arms customers of Russia, which booked an estimated $18 billion dollars in arms contracts in 2005, Iran accounting for $4 billion of that amount, Syria another $2 billion, and Sudan $400 million, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 2006, Russia actually exported $8 billion in weapons worldwide, much of it going to Iran, Syria, and Venezuela.

Russian technology and weapons expertise is now showing itself in the bodies of American troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, and in Israeli citizens from terrorist attacks by Hezbollah and Hamas. In fact, as of April 2006 Putin said that Russia continued to sell small arms to Hamas. At the same time, Iranian-made explosives are also the cause of death among American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. ABC News reports that NATO officials have caught Iran red-handed, shipping heavy arms, C4 explosives and advanced roadside bombs to the Taliban for use against NATO forces, in what the officials say is a dramatic escalation of Iran's proxy war against the United States and Great Britain.

In addition, DEBKAfile reports that Moscow is pressuring the U.S. to close down its Manas base in the former Soviet satellite of Kyrgyzstan, which is the launching facility for operations in Afghanistan against the Taliban. Russia is strategically warring against the U.S. and Israel by providing weapons to Syria and Iran and by its political maneuvering in diplomatic circles and at the United Nations Security Council. Iran is not only shipping weapons to terrorists in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, and Afghanistan, but also infiltrating many of these areas with its special clandestine Quad Force.

The Russian-Iranian proxy war has resulted in American troops being killed each day, and Syria, Hezbollah, and Hamas are preparing to launch a major assault on Israel. The Russian-Iranian relationship sets a historic precedent since Russia and Iran have never allied since the establishment of Israel as a nation in 1948. The Biblical prophecy in Ezekiel 38:4,5 speaks of Gog, modern day Russia, coming against Israel, “I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army…Persia, Ethiopia and Libya are with them.” Russia has armed Sudan, Egypt and Libya, which accounts for all of northern Africa at the time of the prophecy. Now Iran and Russia are together. Watch for what is next.

2007-06-13 -- [WDC News Post] -- WASH— Wars and rumors of wars have taken center stage as Islamic aggression heats up across the Middle East. The United Nations envoy for Syria and Lebanon told the Press Association that there are prospects for full scale war in the Middle East as four epicenters of conflict have emerged to destabilize the area. Terje Roed-Larsen said the Iraqi issues, the Iranian issues, the Syria-Lebanon issues and the Israeli-Palestinian issues serve to destabilize the region and make the future there “very dark and apparently getting darker.”

This coincides with what many are saying in Israel, who is squeezed into the center of the Islamic aggression. Sources there believe that there could very well be a summer war, similar to that of last year. This time, however, terrorist group Hamas, which has been shelling Southern Israeli towns with missiles, is expected to step up its attacks. From the North, al Qaeda trained terrorists from Lebanon’s Palestinian refugee camps are expected to join the fray, as well as Hezbollah. There are even rumblings that Syria may also attack in an effort to seize control of the strategic Golan Heights. And Iran is a constant threat as it sends proxies to aid Hezbollah and Hamas against Israel.

Rumors of war have also stirred debate in the United States. Former Democratic Senator turned Independent Joseph Leiberman said that the United States could no longer stand by and allow Iranian trained Iraqis to kill American soldiers. Lieberman said that air strikes against Iran should be conducted. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, however, continued his appeasement of radical Islam role as he said that an invasion of Iran would only serve to destabilize the region even more. Neither senator mentioned that an invasion against Iran could also draw in Syria, which has a mutual defense pact with Iran, and quite possibly, Russia, which is Iran’s chief arms supplier and military technology provider.

The Middle East is heating up. For the first time in modern history there are several ancient prophecies at play at the same time. First, the 40 year generational anniversary of Israel taking over Jerusalem is just passed this week. Iran and Russia are allies for the first time in recorded history, and allied for the first time since Israel became a nation in 1948. Ezekiel 38 indicates that Iran and Russia will lead the world against Israel in the latter days. And Jesus said in Matthew 24:6, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet.” These may well be the birth pangs of the end times and we are watching them occur before our very eyes.

Malaysian Christian convert loses battle (but gains eternal life)

Chief Justice Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim said that you can't convert from one religion to another, and

Islam's captives cannot be free, and must retain the word "Islam" on their identity card. God, however, is

more than willing to allow people to turn from false gods ("Allah") and false prophets ("Mohammed"), and

accept his free gift of salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ. It is what is in the heart that matters,

not what is written on an identity card issued by an apostate state.

Malaysian Christian convert loses battle

Malaysia's best-known Christian convert, Lina Joy, has lost a six-year battle to have the word "Islam" removed from her

identity card, after the country's highest court rejected the change.

The court's ruling helps define religious freedoms in multi-racial Malaysia, whose constitution guarantees freedom of

worship but deems all ethnic Malays like Joy to be Muslims, subject to Islamic laws that bar her conversion to another faith.

"You can't at whim and fancy convert from one religion to another," Federal Court Chief Justice Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh

Abdul Halim said in delivering judgment in the case, which has stirred religious tensions in the mainly Muslim nation.

About 200 Muslims, mostly youths, had gathered outside the domed courthouse for the ruling. They welcomed the

news with shouts of "Allah-o-Akbar" (God is great).

The three-judge appeal bench ruled 2-1 against Joy. The dissenting judge was the only non-Muslim on the bench.
