KARACHI: Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Syed Sajjad Ali Shah has urged the Muslim

community to establish unity like European Union forming joint defense system and currency.

Former CJP said this during a gathering held on the occasion of the 20th death anniversary

of Imam Khumini here on Wednesday.

He said Islam is the religion of peace and tolerance, which declared suicide as an illegitimate

action urging West to end its policy of double standards as the Muslims, true Muslims can

never ever be terrorists.

Greek muslims 'marginalised'

ATHENS - RELIGIOUS elders in Athens fear that the city's long-marginalised Muslims are a

'timebomb' waiting to explode after a sudden eruption of violence offered a glimpse at their

sense of anger and frustration.

Two days of clashes late last week, which broke out during a rally by around 1,000 Muslims

in the Greek capital, followed claims that a police officer had torn up an Iraqi migrant's pocket

Koran excerpt during an identity check.

More than a dozen people were injured, scores of cars vandalised and a handful of shops had

their windows smashed. Police made 46 arrests.

Although the lid was soon placed on the violence, Muslim leaders who condemned the unrest

also warned the state must act quickly to reverse the sense of marginalisation.

It’s time for some economic jihad. Let’s destroy a corporation for Palestine.

Muslims must adopt a comprehensive economic strategy in this era of globalization.

If we don’t, then we will be worthy of contempt because we will have become our own worst enemies.

One and a half billion Muslims acting in unison can have a great influence on the global economy.

Indeed, the Islamic ummah is already a key component of the world economy since a market of 1.5 billion people

cannot be ignored. But unfortunately, most Muslims have not realized this fact and the profits from our purchases

are still being used against us.

When will we wake up?

However, it’s not easy to be a jihadi. The struggle must be fought on the physical, mental, and spiritual planes.

True jihad must be fought on all fronts. It must be waged on the cultural, military, intellectual, ideological,

psychological, spiritual, and economic fronts.

But in this era of globalization, it is essential that Muslims learn how to correctly conduct economic jihad.

First of all, we must not give money to the enemy.

Even now, the enemies of Islam are laughing at us, saying, “Look at the foolish Muslims. We have brainwashed

them so completely that they are giving us their money. They are buying products manufactured by our corporations

and are oblivious to the fact that we are using the revenues to pay for weapons that are killing their own people and

to fund programs meant to undermine their own culture and way of life. They are financing the destruction of their

own civilization.”

Shame on us. This is true for a large segment of the Muslim ummah.

Thus, clearly, it is time to reform ourselves.

And then we can truly begin the economic jihad.

A waiter at a Jewish wedding who is considering converting to Islam interrupted the celebration's

final prayers with recorded Arabic chants of "God is great," sparking fear among the 700 guests

of a terrorist attack, Nassau County police said Friday.

Stephen Buttafuoco, who police say was fired "on the spot" from the catering service at the

Woodbury Jewish Center, had attended a pro-Palestinian rally in Manhattan opposing the Israeli

campaign last weekend, where he made the recording on his cell phone.

Buttafuoco, 23, was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment, a felony, police said.

A grand jury will consider whether to also charge Buttafuoco with a charge of disruption of

a religious service, police said.

The wedding guests early Jan. 4 couldn't at first decipher the angry-sounding chants blaring

over the public address system shortly after 1 a.m. But when they heard "Allahu akbar"

-- Arabic for "God is great" -- the guests became worried.

Vain Boast: “Nobody can defeat and destroy Islam"

"Sheikh" Saud bin Ibrahim Al-Shuraim, imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, apparently

is not familiar with God's plan and purpose, as revealed through His prophets, such as

Ezekiel and Isaiah, and boasts that nobody can defeat and destroy islam. If the "sheikh"

had any real concern for the world's muslims, he would urge them to repent of their

sins, and accept Jesus Christ as their saviour and lord. Without Him, they are doomed.

since 2000. Moreover, every major public institution has changed its policies to accommodate the demands of

Islamic "community leaders". The Government, the Opposition, the police, schools, the Church of England,

the BBC and now Channel 4 are all helping Muslims construct a parallel Islamic state.

Early next year, the think tank Civitas will publish a survey of 100 British Muslim schools. Entitled When Worlds Collide,

it will argue that some of them are pushing pupils into ghettos. Young women, in particular, are forbidden to pursue

career opportunities. "Every year, an incalculable number of Muslim young women are lost to the wider world," says

the report. One school website links to al-Qaeda; another directs pupils to a scholar who advocates the murder of Jews.

Prayers prompt religious row

Muslims have found yet another reason to complain: "evangelical propaganda" during "Ramadan".

Perhaps they would be happier if Christians prayed, not for the salvation of muslims, but for their

death and destruction, as "Allah", their false god, might have done (Sura 8:12 etc).

A row has broken out after a Christian group organised a day of prayer in Oxford about Muslims

during Ramadan.

The Muslim Education Centre of Oxford (Meco) accused Witney-based Open Doors UK of preaching

"evangelical propaganda", after the Christian group held a Call to Prayer day in Oxford yesterday.

But Open Doors UK, which held the event at St Aldate's Church, insisted it had been taken out of

context, although it "regretted" any offence that had been caused.

A spokesman denied the meeting targeted Muslims, and said its aim was to reduce fear of Islam.

Meco chairman Dr Taj Hargey was invited on BBC Radio Oxford yesterday to talk about the

month of Ramadan, and was followed on to Phil Mercer's show by Brother Andrew from

Open Doors UK.

Dr Hargey said: "It was only then that I learned they were running a day-long Christian initiative

called Call to Prayer.

Islamic communities at risk of home-grown extremism will be offered help by the federal government to tackle

radical influences.

"I've tasked my department to work with other relevant agencies to develop strategies to empower communities

to counter extremism," Attorney-General Robert McClelland told a security conference in Canberra on Wednesday.

"It is essential that we bolster the prevention aspects of our counter-terrorism arrangements and to work more

closely with communities at risk."

The 2008-09 budget papers contain a short reference to the kind of work Mr McClelland wants to encourage.

"Building relationships of respect and trust with Australia's Islamic communities is important to counter radicalising

influences," the papers say.

An attempt by the Spanish state owned railway RENFE to produce special menus for Muslims has failed with the Halal Institute

of the Islamic Junta in Spain saying that the idea was ‘no more than a trick’. They say that all the train company has done is take

away alcohol and pork, but has not controlled other questions such as how animals are sacrificed, the fats used in cooking and

IT may begin with a chuckle, but it could easily end in tears. At least, if we are not careful. One may be tempted to scoff at

the demand to legalise polygamy made recently by Khalil Chami of Sydney's Islamic Welfare Centre. But with the recent

announcement by Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams that the adoption of sharia law in Britain seems unavoidable,

the joke may turn out to be on us.

Britain provides an instructive lesson on the interaction between increasingly radicalised sections of the Muslim diaspora

community and its Western host society.

From Dundee to Dover, traditional British values, already weakened to the point of collapse by a decades-long elite infatuation

with mushy multiculturalism and cultural relativism, cannot provide resistance against the growing tide of extreme demands

by radical self-styled community spokesmen.

The same way that the claim of racism has been used to shut down any debate on cultural identity, immigration and social

cohesion, so is Islamophobia increasingly used to silence dissent. To merely raise certain issues is to give offence, and offending

sensibilities is a hanging offence in our postmodern times.

Toddlers who turn their noses up at spicy food from overseas could be branded racists by a Government-sponsored

agency.

The National Children's Bureau, which receives £12 million a year, mainly from Government funded organisations,

has issued guidance to play leaders and nursery teachers advising them to be alert for racist incidents among

youngsters in their care.

This could include a child of as young as three who says "yuk" in response to being served unfamiliar foreign food.

The guidance by the NCB is designed to draw attention to potentially-racist attitudes in youngsters from a young age.

It alerts playgroup leaders that even babies can not be ignored in the drive to root out prejudice as they can "recognise

different people in their lives".

Tehran, 26 June (AKI) - Iran's highest judicial authority, Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi,

says public flogging is an effective criminal deterrent, while imprisonment is a useless punishment.

In an interview broadcast on state TV on Wednesday night, the head of the country's Judicial Authority

complained that "many Iranian judges, influenced by western propaganda and fearing they will be accused

of failing to respect human rights, are not sentencing offenders to effective penalties like public flogging".

"Public flogging is one of most just sentences that can be inflicted on someone who has committed a crime,"

said Shahroudi.

"The publication of photos and news of public floggings is the best deterrent, while three or four months

in prison has no effect," he said.

YOUNG Australian woman says she is ready to join the army of Islam in a violent jihad with a

declaration of war on YouTube.

Federal authorities are now investigating the video posting, in which she claims to be backed

by firebrand cleric Sheik Haron.

The video shows a woman with her face covered addressing the camera with a distinctive

Australian accent as she declares her backing of the controversial cleric.

“I can’t wait until we go to war on oppression,” the young woman says.

“I invite you to join the Army of Islam.”

The Australian Federal Police said today they are investigating whether the video breached

any anti-terror or other laws.

It is "common sense" for Christianity to be sidelined at the expense of Islam, a Government minister claimed on Sunday.

Hazel Blears, the Communities Secretary, defended Labour’s policy on religion after a report backed by the Church of England

claimed that Muslims receive a disproportionate amount of attention.

She said it was right that more money and effort was spent on Islam than Christianity because of the threat from extremism

and home-grown terrorism.

Ms Blears told BBC Radio 4’s Sunday programme: “That’s just common sense. If we’ve got an issue where we have to

build resilience of young Muslim men and women to withstand an extremist message.”

Islamic extremists could escape prosecution and instead receive therapy and counselling under new Government

plans to "deradicalise" religious fanatics.

The Home Office is to announce an extra £12.5 million to support new initiatives to try to stop extremism spreading.

The central element of the Home Office plan is a new national "deradicalisation" programme that would persuade

converts to violent and extremist causes to change their views.

Controversially, the new plan makes clear that people who fall under the influence of violent organisations will

not automatically face prosecution.
