Rome, 28 July (AKI) - Al-Qaeda Number 3, Abu Yahya al-Libi has issued a new video urging

the killing of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah for his moves towards inter-faith dialogue with

Pope Benedict XVI.

"They want to spawn a new religion on the Arabian Peninsula and that is bringing religions

closer together," al-Libi warns in the video message posted to Islamist websites on Monday.

The video strongly criticises the inter-faith dialogue conference held earlier this month in

the Spanish capital, Madrid, under King Abdullah's patronage and organised by the Muslim

World League.

Britain has been told by the United Nations to challenge negative public views towards the Muslim community.

Filipino bishop told to pay Islamic taxes

Southern Philippines Bishop Martin Jumoad says he has received a letter threatening him with

harm if he does not convert to Islam or pay Islamic taxes.

Bishop Jumoad of Isabela also told the Asian church news agency UCA News that he got

text messages from Catholics saying they, too, had received threatening letters, Catholic

News Service reports.

The letter had the names "Puruji Indama" and "Nur Hassan J. Kallitut" printed at the bottom

and "mujahedin" under each name. The purported senders introduced themselves as

"Muslim warriors" who "don't follow any laws other than the Quran," Islam's holy book.

They said Bishop Jumoad should choose to convert to Islam or give "jizya," Islamic tax,

to their group in exchange for protecting him in the "place of Muslims."

Govt seeks to stop Islamic radicalism

Islamic communities at risk of home-grown extremism will be offered help by the federal government to tackle

radical influences.

"I've tasked my department to work with other relevant agencies to develop strategies to empower communities

to counter extremism," Attorney-General Robert McClelland told a security conference in Canberra on Wednesday.

"It is essential that we bolster the prevention aspects of our counter-terrorism arrangements and to work more

closely with communities at risk."

The 2008-09 budget papers contain a short reference to the kind of work Mr McClelland wants to encourage.

"Building relationships of respect and trust with Australia's Islamic communities is important to counter radicalising

influences," the papers say.

RENFE Spanish railways have tried to introduce a special menu for Muslims on their AVE high speed trains.

An attempt by the Spanish state owned railway RENFE to produce special menus for Muslims has failed with the Halal Institute

of the Islamic Junta in Spain saying that the idea was ‘no more than a trick’. They say that all the train company has done is take

away alcohol and pork, but has not controlled other questions such as how animals are sacrificed, the fats used in cooking and

other requirements under Islam.

IT may begin with a chuckle, but it could easily end in tears. At least, if we are not careful. One may be tempted to scoff at

the demand to legalise polygamy made recently by Khalil Chami of Sydney's Islamic Welfare Centre. But with the recent

announcement by Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams that the adoption of sharia law in Britain seems unavoidable,

the joke may turn out to be on us.

Britain provides an instructive lesson on the interaction between increasingly radicalised sections of the Muslim diaspora

community and its Western host society.

From Dundee to Dover, traditional British values, already weakened to the point of collapse by a decades-long elite infatuation

with mushy multiculturalism and cultural relativism, cannot provide resistance against the growing tide of extreme demands

by radical self-styled community spokesmen.

The same way that the claim of racism has been used to shut down any debate on cultural identity, immigration and social

cohesion, so is Islamophobia increasingly used to silence dissent. To merely raise certain issues is to give offence, and offending

sensibilities is a hanging offence in our postmodern times.

Toddlers who turn their noses up at spicy food from overseas could be branded racists by a Government-sponsored

agency.

The National Children's Bureau, which receives £12 million a year, mainly from Government funded organisations,

has issued guidance to play leaders and nursery teachers advising them to be alert for racist incidents among

youngsters in their care.

This could include a child of as young as three who says "yuk" in response to being served unfamiliar foreign food.

The guidance by the NCB is designed to draw attention to potentially-racist attitudes in youngsters from a young age.

It alerts playgroup leaders that even babies can not be ignored in the drive to root out prejudice as they can "recognise

different people in their lives".
