by a right wing Dutch politician. Foreign Minister Stephen Smith today said Geert Wilders' film Fitna equated Islam

with acts of terror and violence and was "highly offensive".

"It is an obvious attempt to generate discord between faith communities," Mr Smith said.

"Like leaders in the Muslim world and in Europe, I strongly reject the ideas contained in the film and deplore its release.

Christians and Jews and will send its envoy to participate in the proposed talks.

“We will attend the meeting.”

The Saudi king made an impassioned plea for dialogue among the followers of the three faiths in Riyadh on Monday and offered to

call a meeting of their representatives in the kingdom.

The call – the first of its kind by an Arab leader – has generated much interest in such a dialogue and representatives of all three

faiths have welcomed the idea.

Saudi King Abdullah's desire to convene a meeting between Jewish, Christian, and Muslim religious

communities was reported today by the official Saudi Arabian News Agency.

"I invite representatives of all the monotheistic religions to meet with their brothers in faith," the King

was quoted as saying. The theme of the expected conference was reported to be "respect among the religions."

The Saudi Shura council rejected an international recommendation to criminalize offences against

all religions, stressing that the suggestion would imply the government’s recognition of what it

considered as pagan religions, media reports said Tuesday.

Some 77 of the 150 members of the Shura or consultative council, which has limited legislative rights,

opposed the recommendation, while only 33 supported it.

The proposal states that the "Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs along with the Arab Islamic group of

the United Nations will adopt an international recommendation that prohibits offence of all religions

and religious figures by all means."

Talal Bakry, a Shura council member, opposed the move, saying that the recommendation means a

full recognition of "the pagan religions" and thus will allow the establishment of non-monotheistic

worship places in Muslim countries.

"This recommendation is a trap for the Muslim community, which can result in negative consequences

on Muslims above all the others," Khalil al-Khalil, an opponent member, was quoted as saying in al-Watan

Saudi newspaper.

A journalist friend of mine, his tongue firmly in cheek, calls it ‘Oh I See!’ in a not so veiled reference to the

seldom-fruitful deliberations of the OIC. Which is why it’s interesting to see the body representing the 1.6 billion

Muslims take on some real issues for a change at its summit in Dakar, Senegal this week.

Giving voice to the fury of their people, Muslim leaders and heads of state have protested against the growing

Islam-bashing in the West warning of “serious implications for global peace and security”.

The warning articulates the outrage over the republication of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) caricature by

17 Danish newspapers and the film attacking the Holy Qur’an by a Dutch lawmaker.

When the Jyllands-Posten first published that despicable caricature three years ago, our friends in the West had

explained it as a necessary phenomenon of a free press.

Which is why it’s such a shame that the West should tolerate these disgraceful attacks on Islam and its Prophet.

But this has gone far enough. It’s time the Western governments are told in unambiguous terms that this vicious

campaign against Islam must stop and stop right away. Not because it really hurts the Muslims everywhere,

Successive generations of young Muslims are growing up loathing the West for this pathological campaign against

for a woman to be issued a traffic ticket when she isn’t allowed by social customs to drive a car.

The officials reportedly replied to the man that this was “probably” a mistake.

at a summit in Senegal considered formulating legal measures against those who insulted their religion or its sacred

symbols. It was a key issue during the two-day summit that ended on Friday.

The plan represents an attempt to demand redress from nations like Denmark, which allowed the publication of

blasphemous images, an incident that infuriated the Muslim world. However, the type of legal action it could take

is not fully spelled out.

To protect the faith, Muslim nations have already created an ‘observatory’ that meets regularly to monitor

“Islamophobia”. It examines lectures and workshops taking place around the world and prints a monthly record

but it is unclear what kind of legal action could be taken. Some delegates point to laws in Europe criminalising the

denial of the Holocaust and other anti-Semitic rhetoric. They also point to articles within various UN charters that

condemn discrimination based on religion and argue that these should be made stronger.

Hemayet Uddin, the lead author of the report and the director-general of the OIC culture and social affairs committee,

said some form of legal action is needed because “this Islamophobia that we see in the world has gone far beyond a phobia.

It is now at the level of hatred, of xenophobia and we need to act.”

The delegates, he said, were unanimous in the need for this. A new charter drafted by the OIC commits the Muslim

body “to protect and defend the true image of Islam” and “to combat the defamation of Islam.”

How Islam will dominate the world

Allah (swt) says in the Qur’aan:

“It is he (Allah) who has sent his Messenger (saw) with guidance and the religion of truth, in order for it to be dominant

over all other religions, even though the Mushrikoon (disbelievers) hate it.” (EMQ at-Tawbah, 9: 33)

And the messenger Muhammad (saw) said:

“Verily Allah has shown me the eastern and western part of the earth, and I saw the authority of my Ummah (nation)

dominate all that I saw.” (Saheeh Muslim, hadeeth #2889)

As Allah (swt) has said; this religion (i.e. Islam) is the only religion of truth; and the reason why he has sent us this deen

is “in order for it to be dominant over all other religions.” Thus, Allah (swt) never sent us this deen as a mere spiritual belief.

This deen has been sent to us by Almighty Allah (swt) in order for it to be implemented and for the whole of mankind to abide by it.

The only one who would hate for Islam to dominate the world is the Kaafir Mushrik (non-Muslim), as Allah (swt) said, “…even

though the Mushrikoon (disbelievers) hate it.” Consequently, any “Muslim” who dislikes for the Sharee’ah to be implemented

(out of being afraid to be labelled “extremist” for example) has committed a negation of Eemaan, and thus left the fold of Islam

for hating what Allah (swt) has revealed.

Why would the disbelievers and hypocrites hate for Islam to be implemented? Simply because they do not wish for their

corruption, evil, crime, cheating, oppression, dishonesty, fraud, lies, tyranny, freedom, and deception to come to an end,

and for justice (Islam) to prevail.

However, this worldwide domination of Islam which has been promised by Allah (swt) does not necessarily mean that

every single person on earth will become Muslim. When we say that Islam will dominate the world, we mean as a political

system, as the messenger Muhammad (saw) prophesised that the authority on earth will belong to the Muslims, i.e. the

believers will be in power and the Sharee’ah of Islam will be implemented in every corner of the earth.

So how will Islam dominate the world when the majority of people will never accept it?

Indeed, the majority of people on earth will always detest Islam and choose not to live by the Sharee’ah. Allah (swt) says:

“And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.” (EMQ Yoosuf, 12: 103)

Therefore there are three main ways in which a state or country can become Daar ul-Islam (the domain of Islam):

1. The majority of its citizens embrace Islam and implement the Sharee’ah on their own accord

2. A group of Muslims rise, overthrow the government and implement the Sharee’ah by force (coup)

3. The Islamic state carries out Jihaad as its foreign policy and removes the government

If the Muslims are unable to convince their people (e.g. through peaceful da’wah) to embrace Islam and implement the Sharee’ah,

it then becomes an obligation upon them to make hijrah and unite (build their own community and execute the Sharee’ah over

themselves) and then rise against the government by force at a later date, regardless of whether they are the majority or the minority.

Allah (swt) says:

“And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (kufr and shirk) and worship (obedience, submission etc.) is for none but Allah…”

One of the greatest forms of kufr and shirk today is the implementation of man-made law; therefore, since man-made law is a

form of shirk, one of the only ways of eradicating it from the face of this earth is by Jihaad (fighting). In fact, it is an obligation

upon us to fight against the fitnah (kufr and shirk, such as man-made law) until it ceases to exist. Islam has always been spread

by the sword, and it will continue to do so.

overly religious image of Islamic Australia.

A new-look Muslim advisory body is being considered in a bid to help dismantle the stereotypical picture of Islam,

despite infighting - fuelled by ideological rivalries and conflicting egos - racking the former government's board.

And the Rudd Government will also consider reviving the Council for Multicultural Australia - featuring leaders from

a cross-section of ethnic backgrounds, including the Jewish and Muslim communities.

The previous government abolished the trouble-plagued Muslim advisory board - set up by John Howard after the

London terrorist attacks in 2005 - and the multicultural council after their terms ended in 2006.

But Labor is intent on recasting the two bodies, shifting the focus from the spiritual leaders the Howard government

courted - at times with disastrous results - to everyday Muslims.

In the Rudd Government's first statement on Muslims, Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs Laurie Ferguson

told The Australian yesterday it was time to tackle the myths surrounding Islam, arguing religious leaders were not

Certain areas in Britain will still have to remain off-limits for servicemen and women in military gear,

despite the Government’s desire for a nationwide uniform free-for-all, senior RAF sources acknowledged

yesterday.

After the ban on uniforms in Peterborough, ordered by the station commander at nearby RAF Wittering,

one senior air force source said that military commanders had to be aware of potential problems of personnel

wearing combat and other military clothes in the street.

“We’re aware of the sensitivities, for example, in some ethnic minority communities which is why we need

to have a dialogue with local authorities and police if we don’t want to cause a problem,” the source said.

The Dutch govt. is trying to persuade Wilders not to screen his film, using the classic line about not being allowed to

shout “fire!” in a crowded theatre … the reality, of course, is that Muslims quite often threaten to set fire to theatres

and other places of public entertainment (or to bomb them without warning), so it is perfectly correct to shout “fire!”

instead of saying & doing nothing.

What is Wilders expected to do? Remain seated and eat his popcorn? Hopefully the final curtain will fall for Islam

Court bans veiled terror suspect

An Austrian court has excluded a young Muslim woman from the start of her trial on terrorism charges because she

refused to remove her full-face veil.

The suspect, identified as Mona S, is charged, along with her husband Mohamed M, with links to al-Qaeda and posting

a threatening video on the internet.

The presiding judge ordered the woman to be escorted from the court, arguing the jury could not judge her without

seeing her face.

Kamariah Ali begins her sentence today. Despite no longer declaring herself Muslim, the women was judged by an Islamic

court. She had been arrested in 2005, during a massive police operation to disband the community of the “Sky Kingdom”,

a sect banned by authorities.

57 year-old Kamariah was arrested in July 2005 along with another 58 companions for belonging to a small sect known

as the “Sky Kingdom”. Born in the mid ‘80’s, the community grew outside state control until 1998, when its followers

set up a Disneyland style games park – with buildings in the form of umbrellas, colourful boats, Greek and roman columns

– at the centre of which they placed a gigantic teapot and equally massive blue vase. By this means they began proselytising

among villagers and foreigners. Followers of the “sect” worshipped the teapot, which symbolised the pouring out of peace

and blessings of the Sky on humanity.

Media to blame for Islamic misconceptions

The managing editor of one of the country’s biggest newspapers thinks news organizations ought to hire more Muslim reporters.

Philip Bennett, the Washington Post’s managing editor, said reporters often struggle with understanding Islam during a speech

Monday at UCI about the difficulties of covering the religion.

Bennett’s speech focused on the media’s need to cover issues concerning Islam in an in-depth, long-term manner.

To illustrate this point he drew mainly from quotes of notable colleagues and statistical polls, rarely giving his own opinion directly.

“Six of 10 Americans, according to a 2007 ABC Poll, don’t understand the basic tenets of Islam,” Bennett said.

He attributed this to the lack of Muslims working in American newsrooms.

“At the Post I want more Muslim readers and I want more Muslim journalists,” he said.
